1000 Books Before Kindergarten
Edmonson County Public Library is Growing Readers!
Join our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten reading challenge and help your little one build a lifelong love of reading! This program is designed for children ages 0 to 5 years old and is completely free to participate in.
1000 Books Before Kindergarten is a nationwide early literacy initiative that encourages families to read together to help children develop the skills they need for school success.
Reading with your child strengthens their social and emotional skills, boosts their creativity and imagination, and builds a strong bond between you. Plus, reading aloud helps prepare them for learning to read on their own and succeeding in school!
YES! You can do this and Edmonson County Public Library is here to help!
We provide:
- Books to checkout
- Reading Logs
- Storytimes at the Library
Remember-- every book counts! Log every book you read together, every reread, books heard at storytime, and even books read by family members!
Register your child today at ECPL to get started. You can track your progress using a reading log available at the library, or even one you find online.
You will earn prizes from ECPL for every 100 books you read, and a grand prize at 1000 books read!
It doesn't matter if your child is three months or three years old-- now is the perfect time to start this reading challenge!
Open a book and begin the journey today!
